Silver Spring, Maryland Tel: 301-879-5036 Re: Ray Veldran My neighbor and I have both been very fortunate over the last four years to have Ray Veldran assist us in our efforts to save a large stand of neglected, old-growth oaks in our adjoining yards. Ray has done major pruning on trees hanging over our houses, removed dead limbs, and felled dead or dying trees, all without damaging any of the beautiful hollies, rhododendrons, laurels and azaleas nestled beneath our majestic oaks. When Hurricane Isabel arrived in 2003, severely damaging three of our tallest trees - one of which was a 75-ft red oak, ten feet away from the house with a second-story deck built around it - Ray saved the day. Bringing in an 80-ft crane, Ray safely removed all three mangled trees – with many limbs overhanging our house – without causing any damage to our property. My wife and I have talked with numerous tree companies over the years. Many charge rates so high, they seem almost predatory. Others, offering lower prices, often lacked the skills and equipment needed to handle even the simplest jobs. Still other outfits refused to even bid on projects for us because they thought our trees were either too big, or too close, to our home, making the work involved complicated and dangerous. When we met Ray, we found the ideal professional arborist. His rates are fair; he is amazingly competent; and his clean-up after a job is always immaculate. Equally important to us, he maintains high safety standards, has an encyclopedic knowledge of trees, and is a true conservationist at heart. He has frequently offered us constructive advice on how to improve the overall health of our magical little forest. The men on Ray’s crew are also well trained, courteous and enthusiastic. They remove the debris falling from a tree almost as fast as Ray can cut it. And always, at the end of a project, there is a complete clean-up of the job site. Everything is chipped up and hauled away, and firewood is cut to length, if so desired. In short, Ray Veldran is a master of his profession. He has developed his skills, invested in the best equipment, and conducts his business in a highly professional and competent fashion. Ray also has a great personality, fine southern manners, and is a man of his word. If Ray says he is going to do something for you, he does it. For all these reasons, my wife and I both highly recommend Ray Veldran to anyone in need of a professional arborist. I do not believe you can find anyone more competent and pleasant to work with if you need help with your trees. Sincerely, Dr. Mark Sullivan |
